View Entry | 1910 | State v. George W. Scruggs | Shelby | Assault with Intent to Kill |
Scruggs originally indicted for assaulting George W. Bailey with intent to "kill and murder" on 15 April 1910. Bailey worked for his father. All parties operated horseshoeing businesses in Memphis. It is suggested that the trouble between the parties arose from the fact that the "elder Bailey" had the work for shoeing horses for certain City Government departments. Scruggs coveted this work & succeeded in getting it transferred to his shop. |
