D. Thornton had been a Trustee for Jefferson County and during his time in office defaulted on several thousand dollars, and was sued for it. Northern was charged with collecting back taxes for Thornton, the other defendants acted as surety on the amounts . This case argues that as solicitors, Northern, Thornburgh, & Dice cannot be held liable for the money, but instead their clients should be. |
