The defendant in error bought one hundred barrels of super-fine flour from the plaintiff in error for $555. The plaintiff in error is accused of accepting payment but failing to ship the flour. Plaintiff in error claims that payment was made in Confederate money which had no value and that the defendant in error fraudulently represented himself as an agent of the Confederate Government. |

Fowler and Farmsworth had been in court two previous times, one for fraud and another for assault. See ET 1140 and 1152. For this case, Fowler is sued Farmsworth for trespass and damages: for breaking apart, pulling down, and destroying various panels of fence, gates, and drawbars; conveying, damaging, or carrying away $200 worth of wheat; and cutting up, destroying, and spoiling herbage for his livestock. Fowler sues for $1000 in damages. |

The plaintiff sought damages against the defendant for changing the course of a natural waterway that ran across his land. Case sought to assign water rights, as water had been diverted from one property to another. When the land was originally purchased by Rush, it supposedly included a waterway. However, since the water had been diverted it did no longer. |

Crumley accused Cox and a band of scoundrels of roughing up him, his wife, and daughter at the end of the Civil War. The deed occurred at the Crumley home in Washington County; the family were in their night clothes. James's brother-in-law, Jackson King was murdered. Testimony is made about the character of several men, particularly Cox; W. B. Nichols; Joshua Carter; and Isaac Hamilton, who was accused of wanting to kill Dr. Jo Clarke. Includes tales of whippings, barn burnings, and talk of murder. |

Girdner left his house with Joseph Holt of the Southern Greys, whose aim was to capture Union soldiers, forcing them to pledge allegiance to the South. Dave Fry is mentioned as having burned local bridges, also Reuben Davis, & General Caswell. The suit seeks to recover $10k in damages. |
