View Entry 1848 Philip Isenhour v. William C. Roadman& Robert W. Pulliam Cocke Land and Title Dispute

Dispute over title to land, including bridge. Plaintiff procured charter to erect bridge across river Frenchbroad, with location described as being "above William Faubion's mill dam" & also a road from the bridge to a "meeting house below Stephen Huff's". During construction of bridge, Plaintiff dealt with Roadman (over whose land part of works extended), who ultimately acquired deed of trust to bridge to secure debts of Plaintiff. Pulliam was trustee on deed of trust.

View Entry 1848 Samuel Pearce v. William Roller, et al. Sullivan Wills, Contested

Additional Defendants: Elizabeth and William B. Arneus (?), Elijah Roller (minor), J A. Roller (minor), George P. and Pearce S. Roller. Pearce sued to claim ownership of a tract of land he claimed he purchased from his father William Pearce prior to his death. After the death of William Pearce, his will did not account for this transaction and Samuel contested it as such. See majority of materials (165 of 204 pages) in box ET 1870.
