R. C. Rhea, his wife, brother and sister in law were all heirs to Samuel McQueen's estate. Asa Reece sued the estate, over a portion of land was in litigation for ten years until there was a settlement in favor of Rhea. Abner Smith & heirs also sued over the same land. Documents seek to clarify land boundaries & chain of title.

Case is incomplete; brief only. In Nov. of 1874 Thomas L. Branson executed a deed of trust to J.W.Branson for a parcel of land in Union County. Deed was made to secure a debt due A. A. Baker who was named in the deed. In 1876, debt due Baker had not been See ET Box 1871: paid- the land was sold by the Trustee, J.W. Branson and purchased by Baker. Later Baker took a trust deed for land. At the time trust deed was executed, T. L. Branson was legal owner of land. Conveyance was bona fide.

Saunders got judgment in Circuit Court against Thos Vickory Jr & Bates (endorser), satisfied by sale of County land on Brush Creek that Vickory & others inherited from Tom Sr. Saunders bid $25 at sale, then transferred bid to Dr. Bates, who paid debt. Heirs sold land to Leeper, who said he'd pay Dr. Bates but didn't. Heirs: Sarah Vickory (widow); other Vickorys - Madison, Rebecca, Lucretia, Marg; Hilburns - Wiley, Rebecca, Rachel; Hetty Qualls. Lots of testimony re: character of Thomas Jr & wife Anna.
