The plaintiff stated that Wilson attempted to board a passenger car operated by the defendant and when he went to hand his money to the conductor, the conductor then wilfully drew a pistol and fired five shots, killing Wilson without just cause. |

The plaintiff is the surviving partner in a business where he contracted with a Trustee of the Methodist Church, namely the defendants to whom they furnished $150 worth of materials. The defendants took $75 each out of the funds for materials, for which the plaintiff took them to court to be prosecuted for acting in bad faith. The church house blew down in 1865 while housing a great deal of valuable material and the defendants unlawfully took possession of it. |

Plaintiff is the administrator of the estate of John Willard Phillips, a minor (dec'd), who was employed by the defendant as a newsboy. He went in the elevator on their property to an upper floor when he was struck on the head by an abrupt projection of the wall of the elevator shaft, mangling his head and body between the steel frame and woodwork of the elevator and causing him to hang suspended in the shaft by a leg, all while conscious for a time. Plaintiff sued for $25,000 in damages. |

In 1917, the deceased was walking on a path near the defendant's tracks, when an agent of the defendant negligently and carelessly at a rapid speed ran its railroad car upon and over the deceased. Plaintiff sued for $50,000 in damages for the careless act of the defendant closing part of the sidewalk to pedestrians to run its engines and forcing them to walk along a path where such an occurrence was possible. |
