In 1811, William Moore executed two notes to James Cook for $570. Cook in return sold Moore a plot of land in Carthage. Later Moore discovered that this lot was not legally registered for taxation with the city. Cook then died intestate. The suit was filed to satisfy the terms of the original agreement. |
