Bry-Block Mercantile Company operated large dept. store in Memphis. First floor was grocery and meat market. Mrs. Horne slipped on vegetables on the floor, claiming negligence and loss of service for her husband, Jere Horne.

Fischer Lime and Cement Company bought land on the north side of Pontotoc Ave. in the fall/winter of 1923-1924. Tony Sorce is sued for damages and injuries resulting from a car accident involving his wife, his minor daughter, and a friend. The Sorces' car accident resulted from going over a retaining wall built by Fischer Lime and Cement Company on their Pontotoc Ave. property. Sorce alleges it was dangerous. See WT 1842 for additional part of case.

The Alsup farm in Shelby County was purchased by twenty men, with legal title in name of two trustees and real and equitable ownership was in certificate holders. Mr. Smith and Mr. Crisler, defendants, acquired all certificates, becoming sole real and equitable owners. Complainant suing for a specific performance and/or damages from property contract.

Jordan was injured stepping into a hole while alighting a streetcar. She claimed that because it stopped in front of the hole and that the car blocked the streetlight, she was entitled to a settlement.

Contract dispute for damages for alleged failure to deliver certain coal which complainants claimed to have purchased during 1916-1917.

Other petitioners: J.S. Cook, H.B. Dameron, and garnishee L.A. Schwantz. L.A. Schwantz entered into a contract with J.P. James for sale and purchase of real estate in Mississippi. Schwantz was given 10 days to inspect land and sign contract. Joseph Townsend caused garnishment to be issued against Schwentz to pay petitioners per contract. Ezzell arguing that terms of contract never specified time that commission was to be paid and, thus, Schwentz did not warrant garnishment.

Plaintiff argues negligence on the part of The Memphis Hardwood Flooring Company, his employer. The plaintiff sues the defendant for $15,000 due to injury after falling 20 feet off of an unsafe scaffold. Exhibits include photographs, building drawings and time cards. 3 folders

Complainants purchased land from H.S. Griffin, with W.M. Westbrook et al.purchasing 206.6 acres and Alex Hulon purchasing 94.46 acres. Deeds to both properties contained provisions that defendant would remove timber from the land. Complainants arguing that defendant did not remove timber in time allotted in contract, 2 1/2 years. Other plaintiff: Alex Hulon. Land in Shelby County, but exact location of property not given.
