The plaintiff had a policy of assurance with the defendant, to whom the plaintiff executed a note for said policy in the sum of $140 as premium. R.M. McClung was the agent assigned to the policy. In 1868, the plaintiff's store and trade goods, worth around $12,000, were consumed by a fire. The defendant failed to deliver the amount of coverage described in the policy. |

Dowell for $650, payable by $250 in cash & a $400 note. Plntff. charged that the $400 note was credited to the unpaid purchase. He sued to enforce his vendor's lien which he alleged Dowell knew about prior to her purchase & had agreed to discharge. |

On the 24th day of January 1888 McMillin obtained a judgement against Thompson. Thompson claimed that there was an agreement that he would pay 50 to settle the costs. He offered 10 dollars to pay McMillin's legal fees. McMillin's attorney demanded 25 dollars and another suit was brought for the recovery of all the fees. The case was found in favor of McMillian. Thompson then brought a motion to appeal that decision claiming that there was an error in the proceeding. |

At the time of George Simpson's death, he was a minor under the age of 21 and Alex Warters was his guardian. Humes claimed that Warters drew money from the pension office as the guardian of Simpson. This case revolves around monies owed plaintiff, $1,023 by defendants, stemmed from a banking venture, the Wetumpka Trading Co. in AL. When the bank failed, a negro boy known as Aleck or Alexander, owned by Champlin was spirited to TN by Belden. Chancery Court ordered the boy returned, sold at public auction and the money raised applied to debt. Defendants failed to return Aleck to Court in TN. |

Widby sued American Insurance for $1250.00 plus interest. Widby was the widow of Basil T. Widby, dec. who was killed in an accident with a Mack truck. American Insurance claims that the life insurance policy issued to Widby was in fact issued after he was killed rather than before. Therefore, American Insurance decided that Widby was not due payment. |

Plaintiffs claim Joseph maintained an insurance policy that listed them as beneficiaries. Plaintiffs complain that upon Joseph's death, Elizabeth Sneed contacted the insurance co. to withhold payment. Said company notes that Joseph had attempted to remove his nephews from the policy but did not provide the correct paperwork. Exhibit materials include insurance documents. |

Bancroft, upon whose behalf the Chavannes filed this cause. The construction of a new house on the property raised waterprices. Chavannes was a Swiss author of books including East Tennessee Sketches. |

Harrell had trouble with her eyes, perhaps an astigmatism. She was in an accident, then diagnosed neurasthenic. She made a claim to her insurance company that was challenged in court.
