Hiram hired Joseph Geager (not a millwright) to build saw mill dam across waters of Big Limestone but after frame built, parties agreed it would not do. Geager agreed to take $50 for work done & abandon it. Hiram employed def Haynes (was a millwright) to complete work & also build sawmill. When work not quite done, he & son (who was helping him) became ill with dysentery & had to stop work. Hiram executed note to Haynes anyway; dispute arose re completion & quality; Haynes now seeking relief from note. |
