Prior to the passing of TN House Bill 105, which created the position of County Road Superintendent, Sevier County had three male citizens (Butler, McMahan, J. H. Denton,) serving jointly, to make up what they called the Count Highway Commission. After the bill passed, the commission was voided, and McMahan was appointed Commissioner. Dr. Prosterman practiced as a dentist in multiple states during the early 20th century. In order to gain the trust of the public and business, he combined with two other workers and formed what was advertised as the "Southern Dental Institute," where he would perform dentistry and teach students. However, he was the only dentist. The Board found his advertisements to be false, and his license was revoked. Prosterman tried then to appeal this decision with this case. Three folders. |

The Oakdale Bank and Trust Co. then became insolvent and failed. Plaintiff claims the defendant has failed to pay the balance of the said note. The defendant claims the plaintiff knew the financial situation of the bank when he sold the stock and further claims that the stock was already worthless when it was sold. |
