Widby sued American Insurance for $1250.00 plus interest. Widby was the widow of Basil T. Widby, dec. who was killed in an accident with a Mack truck. American Insurance claims that the life insurance policy issued to Widby was in fact issued after he was killed rather than before. Therefore, American Insurance decided that Widby was not due payment. |

Plaintiff had a $200 fire policy on his furniture that burned in 1931. The company did not pay the claim, saying that Lindsay was more than thirty days delinquent on his payment. However, according to Tennessee Code, the company secretary was to send a notice for payment within sixty days. Code won. |

The related case, "Myra M. Orr v. Joseph Orr, et al." may be found in ET 43. While the parties are primarily the same, it appears that these are two separate suits. Pla. and def. were granted a divorce in 1926 and entered into a contract setting forth their mutual property rights. Said contract included a guarantee that the def. would carry a $10,000 life insurance policy and name the pla. as his beneficiary. Pla. claims the def. has failed to honor this agreement. |

Defendants include the Gump Investment Company. Sentinel issued a payment to Gump after a claim was filed on a damaged vehicle. However, an error was made in the amount of payment. Before the error could be corrected, the check payment had been turned over as payment to another party. Sentinel seeks to be recouped the overpayment, and errors in bookkeeping be settled between the parties. |

The plaintiff issued a health insurance policy. After being butted by a calf Mr. Campbell became ill & suffered three nervous breakdowns, resulting in lengthy hospital stays. After Campbell's bills were filed with Sun, the company learned he had not dis- closed his diabetes, nor the death of his sister by tuberculosis. He sought $1669.06 for his hospital bills & chancery court fees. Exhibits include detailed hospital records, including copies from the historic Battle Creek Sanitarium in Michigan. 2 fldrs. |
