Thurston of Kentucky, Mary Churchill of Louisville and her daughter Mary Moss Churchill, Julia January and her husband Derick A. January of St. Louis, and Robert M. Patton of Alabama. Plaintiffs allege that the lots were never sold to the defendants and that they obtained possession of them illegally. |

Breece bought 2 pieces of Hickman County land from T.S. Easley & his wife L.J. Easley, after which Def. Bond became security for a debt T.S. owed & ultimately got a judgment against T.S. for that debt & tried to execute that judgment against this land. Hunter was the sheriff charged with levying against land to satisfy judgments. Breece asked court for injunction to keep Def.. from selling the land. Main issue was whether Breece's deed properly registered. Witnesses: Walker, Thomas, Bates. |

The 2 Skillerns, Miller & Smith formed partnership to speculate in mountain lands, including 10,000 acres in Hamilton County. Per consent of partners, Smith went north to try to sell land & did sell land to Dr. Joseph Evans of New York, in exchange for land in Village of Jamaica, Long Island, NY. Plaintiffs sued Smith to account for proceeds of sale. |

Hart also suing for: $1300 Darault was to have paid Isaac H. Brown and $1000-the deficit of the partnership books. |

However the Defendants are now divorcing and Def. Viola is claiming an interest in said land. The land in question lies in the 5th Civil District of Claiborne County, Tennessee. |

In 1866 land belonging to Andrew Castleman located in the 11 Civil District of Davidson County was equally divided amongst his twelve heirs. In 1893 pla. brought suit complaining that W. L. Nance was falsely claiming ownership of said land. Casefile notes William A. Nance was confined to the State Insane Asylum in Nashville for 16 years prior to the trial. |

Jane C. Brackett divorced Adkins Brackett and was awarded one-half of his assets. Additionally he was made responsible for court costs. When he couldn't afford it, the sheriff levied the costs upon his land. Brackett argued that would make him destitute, therefore unable to pay alimony. When the sheriff auctioned the land at a courthouse sale, the high bidders were Owens, J. M. Clementson, W. L. Lane, W. S. Jaston, and E. L. Miller. Brackett (who later married Eliza Haney) asked the court to void sale. |

Mary was formerly married to J. A. Branscomb, before his elect ion as Revenue Collector for Wash. County, the other defs are sureties on his official bond of 1869. Branscomb is attempting to execute a deed to the tract of land on which she and their kids are living. |

The interior of the file noted both men were colored. Complaintant was the son of the defendant, both men went in to purchase a plot of land in "Haslams Plan" on Warren St. Defendant asserted he only wanted the right to quarry for rock on the plot, and afterward would give his share to plaintiff. Plaintiff had recently found his father did not put the deed in both of their names nor signed the land over after quarrying was complete. Complaintant has lived in a house on the plot for 6 years. |
