Plaintiff was a confederate soldier in the Civil War, at which time he was ordered to get a horse from a certain home. After the war, plaintiff was charged with being a horse thief and required to submit a note for the repayment of the horse. Plaintiff later discovered defendant to be in possession of stolen horse and demanded that horse be returned to him, so that he could return it to the owner. Plaintiff also requested the note be deemed and void since he found the horse and planned to return it |

Each family member repaired at a different rate of time, the total time of the Dr.'s attention was about two months. The bill mounted & Bogle could not pay it back right away. Suit was to recover payment. However, witness testimony shows the bill was far too high to be fair. |

Setliff borrowed about $3,000 from the defendant association in 1889 and in return executed a mortgage deed in trust with John Richardson as trustee. He has paid $3,882 to the Association on the mortgage since but the interest accrued at the time of the late monthly payent was $500. The plaintiff therefore paid an additional $382. The defendant claimed Setliff still owed money and attempted to sell the land in trust. Setliff petitioned for a halt of the sale and accounting. Exhibit is share ledger. |

A.D. McCutchen sold a monument to Mrs. Helen Brummitt Montgomery to be erected at the gravesite of her deceased husband, Horace Brummitt. The total for the monument, in accordance with the contract, was $680.00. Mrs. Montgomery made payments totaling less that $200.00, so McCutchen filed a bill to reclaim the monument under the terms of the original contract. |

William Stuart began a retailing business with Dr. John Yancey in Warrensburg, purchasing their initial stock from Brown & Appleton. Their store burned to the ground in 1849. Although they still had their books, & turned them over to an official for record, when the debts came due, they were unable to pay. They hardly made a profit by the time of the fire. |

Ella Bailey, wife os S. H. Bailey Jr.(dec.), and her children filed suit against the executors, heirs, and devisees of Enoch Brown, deceased. Bailey Jr. inherited an estate in trust from his mother Maria L. (Clark) Bailey. The plaintiffs contested the validity of note that Schuyler H. Bailey (dec. husband of Maria L.) transferred to Enoch Brown, which they claimed was misappropriated and against the trust deed of the estate. Plaintiffs requested the return of land conveyed by the note and debt on note. |

Plaintiff, Emmaline Johnson, widow of Henry Johnson, sued her daughter, Adelaide Johnson, and John Jenkins for taking over her property. The plaintiff had debt to settle for the property of her husband before she could retain the deed again. Due to her ill health her daughter offered to take on the task of gathering up the final payment for the land but had the deed put in her own name. John Jenkins then rented the land against Emmaline's wishes per a private arrangement with Adelaide. |

John Bynum purchased machinery from East TN Iron Manufacturing Co. for a large scale steam tannery operation. He still owed about $2000 for the equipment. The iron company sued to recover this amount, suggesting a lien on five acres where the tannery stood. |
