The plaintiffs minority stockholders of Oakdale Iron filed suit against the defendants and majority stockholders, alleging that the sale of stock of Walden's Ridge to Trustee Chapman was fraudulent and void. View Entry 1895 Thomas Herndon v. J. C. Kendrick et al. Montgomery Petition to Compel Sale

Additional Defendants: C. D. Runyon, W. H. Trunley, T. R. Hancock and Wilcox, Louis G. Wood, Wesley Drane, and additional 12 defendants. Plaintiff, Thomas Herndon filed suit against the defendants, eleven warehouse firms of Clarksville, to compel them to sell him tobacco at their auction. Herndon claimed that all persons have a right to buy tobacco at their public sales despite the defendants position that one must be a member of the Clarksville Tobacco Board of Trade.
