The plaintiff is contesting the election of the defendant to District Attorney.

Plaintiff's name also spelled Shipp. Additional defendants: wife, J. H. Rarick. Additional plaintiff: Ohio Casualty Co. Defendants offered to pay plaintiff $23.35 for state and county taxes on property in said county. Plaintiff refused and demanded additional penalty of 7% on $23.35. Defendants objected to penalty and therefore plaintiff threatened to issue a distress warrant.

Property dispute regarding a note issued upon the sale of a horse.

O. W. Helms was driving a car while on business for Cosmopolitan Life Insurance Company when he struck and killed Allen Jordan, of whose estate Mattie Sharp is the administratrix. Helms abandoned the car and reported it stolen. Jordan had been living with and supporting Sharp while married to Maud Colvin. Cosmopolitan attempts to absolve themselves by stating they do not require their employees to travel by car.

Gillespie got judgment against Whitney on 2 pieces of negotiable paper, but Whitney claims judgments are void as they did not comply w/demand & notice rules governing negotiable paper.

Under terms of plaintiff's policy with defendant he would be paid $25 per week for life if permanently disabled. On 3 March 1930 plaintiff accidentally injured himself by drinking a small amount of "Jamaica ginger" that contained a "foreign or poisonous" ingredient & suffered "multiple neuritis", resulting in permanent disability. Aetna discontinued its payments after 48 weeks & has not paid in 2 years. Exhibit of ginger extract located in ET Oversize Box 11.

There is a dispute regarding whether or not a deed on property is valid that focuses the state where the deed was issued, Alabama. The plaintiff sued for damages for "conversion of a steam boiler" that was deeded to the plaintiff and carried a mortgage.

Plaintiff and heirs of Robert Denny claim that a document purporting to be the last will and testament of Robert Denny was admitted to probate court without any legal notice to them and that the original will was actually destroyed during the war. The Fitzgerald surname appears throughout the document as heirs to Robert Denny.

Cause of Action: violation of election laws. Lane, alias Jude Lane is being accused of fraudulently marking the ballots of Houston H. Smith, Grady Hicks, Gertrude Hicks, Mary Prestwood, all qualified voters during the election of Mayor and Commissioner for the City of Chattanooga.

On 15 Oct. 1929 plaintiff took out a policy with defendant that would pay her $1000 should she become permanently disabled due to disease or injury before the age of sixty. On 22 Aug. 1932 plaintiff became permanently disabled due to tuberculosis. Defendant has refused to honor her claim despite having been provided with proof of her disability. Plaintiff suing for $1500, the value of the policy plus penalties & interest. Defendant argues she has never furnished them with proof of her disability.

Case involved a dispute over the intent of a deed that was written by the father of Nancy Dobbs (wife of J.D. Dobbs), in which he used the word heirs instead of the word children & there was questions over who the land was intended to be passed down to

Defendant issued to Plaintiff a sick & accident insurance policy, No. 1447039. Less than 1 month later, Plaintiff fell sick (paralysis) & became disabled. Defendant initially paid Plaintiff under the policy, but then stopped paying him, a dispute having arisen over the correct amount payable under the policy.

Additional Plaintiffs: Mayola Johnson, Bessie Cox. Bessie's 5-yr-old son Robert Lee Nelson killed by car. Eddie Johnson & Ed Tate appointed administrators of Nelson's estate, but neither were related to Nelson. Plaintiffs asking court to re-open case and appoint someone Bessie suggests to serve as administrator of Nelson's estate.
