Annie Brown was the widow of George Brown. This case involved a dispute between her and her stepchildren over the interests and rights to a hardware business owned by the said George Brown, deceased.

This was a suit to recover as beneficiary on a policy of industrial life insurance upon the life of Willie Barrett.

Plaintiff, who had a policy with the defendant, sued to collect $25 in unpaid claims plus a 25% penalty. Plaintiff also had policies with 3 other insurance companies & had filed claims with all of them. Defendant argued that her carrying aggregate insurance of over $7 violated her policy contract with them, & under the terms of the contract they were liable for only the pro rata part. Defendant had paid some of her claims before learning of the other insurance policies.

The plaintiff supplied the defendant with peaches, fresh oysters and tomatoes. The defendant was to sell these items and give some of the proceeds to the plaintiff. The defendant sold the items but did not give any of the proceeds to the plaintiff.

E. H. Priest does business as Henley Motor Company. Debt is for $33 for a wrongful repossession of a vehicle.

Additional plaintiff: T. G. Harris. The defendant was a business partners of David L. Kidd and admr. of his estate upon his death. Plaintiffs are seeking collection of past debt accrued from the sale of wines, brandies and liquors sold and delivered.

This is an appeal of a judgment against Churchwell in a suit to enforce a debt by note under $200, brought against Churchwell by Reynolds, as assignee of John Pickett (deceased), for the use of Edwin Wadhams.

Hannah Swann petitions the court to be mad administrator of the estate of William Swann instead of her husband Moses on the grounds that he is her brother.

Before he died, Thomas Hopkins purchased 500 acres from William B. Lewis, exe. Of William L. Lewis' dec. estate. The transaction was paid for, but no title was ever issued to Hopkins, or his heirs. The sheriff of Rhea county sold the land to Locke, not knowing it was already sold to Hopkins. Locke died intestate. Hopkins' heirs sued Locke's estate to recover the land.

In Nov of 1864, Wilhite was arrested by US soldiers & taken to Knoxville, at which time Hickey was put in possession of Wilhite's land under lease agreement she had with William G. Brownlow, Special Agent of US Treasury Dept, appointed to take charge of & lease captured & abandoned property. Previous owner of the land (H.W. Swan) said to be a rebel. Land in dispute: 30 acres on Sevierville Road, 4-1/2 miles from Knoxville. Jury ruled for Wilhite.

Additional defendant: Perez Dickenson. Original bill – Cowan, McClung & Co. sued Mabry for unpaid debt on a note. Mabry was found to be defendant in error. This case was combined with TN & TN Pacific R. R. Co. v. George W. Mabry et al, although the particulars of that case are not clear.
