Dispute over land in Ocoee District. Bruce had large farm, portion of which he had cleared as field. After land surveyed, survey line determined to run through that field, leaving Bruce's house in different quarter, & it's this quarter that is in dispute. Others mentioned: James Eaton, Lewis Ellis, Evins, James Nicholson, Scruggs, S. Finley. Jury ruled in favor of Williams. Stuart sued Birdseye & Hazen over a writing obligatory that Stuart claims they executed and under which they owed him $200, which claim Birdseye & Hazen disputed. At one point, it was suggested Stuart had died, but his attorney disputed that claim, after which a jury was assembled to determine whether or not Stuart had died. Oversized pages. |
