Both the additional plaintiffs and defendants are too extensive to list. Case is a dispute over the will and real estate originally owned by Anderson Cheek in Marion County, which was purchased or inherited by Ms. Sarah Alder, wife of Barnabus Alder. B. Alder's will gave the land to his wife and then to his 8 sons. After the couple died, the sons sold the land to Brown & Spears for $10,310. The daughters who were not included in the original sale sought proceeds of the sale.

View Entry 1890 Georgia Home Insurance Co. v. C. A. Crunk Lincoln Insurance Disputes

Def. in error was the owner of a two story frame shingle roof home situated on the north side of Market Street in the town of Fayetteville, TN and insured against fire by the pla. in error. Said home was destroyed by fire on March 27, 1890. Def. now states pla. refuses to make payments. Pla. claims a tornado caused the initial damage which led to the fire and believes this releases them from liability. Also see "The London and Lancashire Fire Insurance Co. v. C. A. Crunk," located in MT 892.

Plaintiff is a lumber dealer residing in Cincinnati, Ohio, having moved from Nashville in 1887. Defendant is the Davidson County Trustee. Plaintiff is sued for debt due for taxes paid under protest. Case file includes Plaintiff's 1889 tax statement.

View Entry 1890 J. L. Graves v. Uriah Peebles Davidson Election Dispute

In an election held for constable for the 13 District of Davidson County, Peebles, Graves, J.A. Ferring, and Ed Capps were candidates. Peebles received 43 votes to Graves' 3 votes. Graves claimed to have received a majority of votes because of the votes he received at 2 other voting precincts. Peebles charged said precincts were annexed to the 1st district and could not be counted. Peebles suing to be inducted into the office of Constable. Court ruled in Peebles' favor.

The clerk, John W. Conner, sued the street railroad for payment of $540 in taxes due the County and costs of the court case.

View Entry 1890 William Fleming et al v. Amelia Burgess et al. AND Amelia Fleming et al. v. William Fleming et al. Monroe Land and Title Dispute

Original bill was filed by Fleming, Rhinesmith & Simons against Burgess and wife for partition of a 40,000 acre tract of land in Monroe County that Fleming claimed 25/32th of. Burgess and wife denied the partition right and claimed 11/32th of tract. The plaintiffs amended and refiled the bill to clear the title and reassert their claim to the partition and portion of ownership. The Burgesses filed a cross bill showing their ownership portion and that of other partial owners.
