Plaintiff, who had a policy with the defendant, sued to collect $25 in unpaid claims plus a 25% penalty. Plaintiff also had policies with 3 other insurance companies & had filed claims with all of them. Defendant argued that her carrying aggregate insurance of over $7 violated her policy contract with them, & under the terms of the contract they were liable for only the pro rata part. Defendant had paid some of her claims before learning of the other insurance policies.

Action brought to recover seven acres of land with the improvements made on it. Plaintiffs claim land under a grant from the state but Grimes states the state never held a title to the land. Land formerly owned by the Chickasaw Indian tribe, acquired by the government.

Suit for $621 on a bond executed by defendants, who claim Mitchell contracted with them to receive other notes in satisfaction of the debt they owed Mitchell, but Mitchell refused to receive said notes.

Barcroft [Bearcroft] Beaver & Co. (partnership in Philadelphia, PA, comprised of Stacy B. Barcroft, Thomas Beaver, John H. March, Wetheral Lee, Thomas S. Foster & Samuel T. Curley) claimed Lynn owed the firm $1069.28. Lynn apparently owed money to other Philadelphia merchants as well. Thomas Tittsworth was trustee of deed of trust that Lynn executed to convey land for Tittsworth to hold in trust for satisfaction of his various debts.

For period of 6 years before death of John Vance Sr, Byas & his wife performed large amount of work for Vance, at his request, & promised to pay them what work was reasonably worth, but he never did so. Jury ruled in Byas' favor, awarding $95 in damages. Witnesses: Galloway Cates (pssbly Vance's brother-in-law), Alexander Newman, Edmond Foster, Thomas Wright, Elizabeth Byas (Bryant's sister-in-law), Mary Cates, William McNight, William Williams, Patrick Pierce, others. Blue was the owner of a home in which he lived and stored building materials such as columns, casings and doors. When Gunn purchased the home, the materials remained. Gunn used the materials in the home and Blue brought suit claiming that the materials were not included in the sale of the home.

Not on the cover, Richardson's husband, Edward, was named as primary pltf. throughout the case. Bettie was also listed as Kate in part of the case. Pltf. purchased a suit of furniture from Lowery Bros. on notes, Lowery Bros. sold out to dfnts. Pltf. asserted she had paid for the furniture suit in full, but had not received the goods she purchased.

Plaintiff was the executor of the estate of Sarah K. McFarland dec. (also spelled McFarlin) and introduced a document purporting to be McFarland's last will and testament. Bessie M. Shipley was an employee of the Standard Knitting Mills and was enrolled in the group life insurance program provided by said employer through the def. and to which the pla. was the beneficiary. Bessie became ill and died on Oct. 28, 1931 in Knoxville General Hospital. Pla. claims the def., in breach of contract, has refused to payout the said policy. Exhibit materials include correspondence and employment information. Bessie had a 7th grade education and made $0.21 per hour.

Barrett of Boston, her children's father was Edmund Monroe. Barrett owned 20k acres of land at his death, leaving them to his widow, who divided & sold them to Edmund Monroe, who then died intestate. Conflicting deeds were discovered. Suit was filed to settle estate & land ownership.
