C.R. Taylor is sued General Exchange Insurance Corporation on a plea of debt due by action on a fire insurance policy that he had with the company. He claims they have failed to pay him what is owed to him for damages his property sustained in a fire.

Please do not pull. Case in very poor condition. Cross & Hatfield partnership mentioned. Case concerns contract over building a hotel on Market Street in Chattanooga.

The defendants are the executors of Asa Delozier dec. who was the husband of Caroline Delozier. The plaintiff is challenging the will of her late husband.

Plntff., an employee of the Bemberg & Glanstorff Plants, is sued on a group health policy for $1100, the amount of her certificate, plus a $275 penalty. The $1100 was to be paid if the policy holder became permanently disabled, which she has, but deft. refuses to pay. Deft. argues that it owes Miller nothing as her insurance with it had terminated & was cancelled, she had failed to file due proof of her disability as required by the policy, & was not totally & permanently disabled.

Case concerns the estate of Col. Tom W. Neal, who died in Oct., 1922. Additional defendant was Mrs. Lillian Neal Simpson. Pages 1-3 of main case file are missing. Includes published Assignment of Errors and Brief on behalf of defendants. Case centered around the validity of the will.

Additional Plaintiff: Sylvester Bard.

Complaining as admr. of the estate of Wm Henckle, Neff sued James W. Rodgers, Thomas Rodgers, & Isaac A. Rodgers for $400. The debt had been owed Henckle before he died, & the Rodgers had failed to pay.

M. L. Foster sued the estate of Robert Nelson, through the agency of her husband, on a debt due Foster from Nelson. Nelson had issued a promissory note that was lost, however Foster had an affidavit. She sued for a total of $1000.

Dispute is over the ownership of the "Buena Vista Turnpike and Ferry Co."

Dispute between friends over an agreement about a tract of land

Additional plaintiffs: Mrs. Riley and Mrs. Mattie F. Goodman. Includes two massive volume and two printed briefs. Case takes up the entirety of WT 920 and part of ET 921.

Plaintiff: Ned Crenshaw. Case is an effort to collect $1,000 on an insurance policy on the West Tennessee Academy, which was destroyed by fire. Plaintiffs own the property on which the school sat; defendant company says the policy was made out and signed in the name of the school, not of individuals, and will not pay.

The plaintiff supplied the defendant with peaches, fresh oysters and tomatoes. The defendant was to sell these items and give some of the proceeds to the plaintiff. The defendant sold the items but did not give any of the proceeds to the plaintiff.

Additional plaintiffs include: Timothy Sullan, William Ballen, M.A. Cass, J.D. Gaston, C.F. Gibson. Plaintiffs are members of the Methodist Episcopal Church South on Washington Street in the city of Athens. Additional defendants include: J.M. Mann, R. D. Black, M.S. Philips, James H. Honsley, J.M. Two attached cases. In one, filed August 1872, Wolf sued Deborah C. and William M. Branner for $1550 debt due by promissory note. Court ruled in favor of plaintiff for $1628. The second case is a continuation of the above case, filed January 1873; D.C. Branner having remarried to John L. Lonas. Court ruled in favor of Wolf for $1545.67.

Plaintiff's sister, Mary Ross, dec., owned a tract of land at the time she died. Defendant was the step-son of the deceased, plaintiff alleged that he misrepresented himself and letters from the deceased in order to become admr of the estate in order to defraud heirs. Plaintiff filed this case to have defendant removed as admr and herself added.
