Ferrel & Hamilton was a trading firm under the joint ownership of C.H. Ferrell and James Hamilton

The Eskew Brothers Grocery Company was owned by Lawrence Eskew, Ed Eskew, Herman Eskew, and Will Eskew.

Defendant in error complains that he purchased a mule from the plaintiff in error and within 4 days the mule began exhibiting symptoms of rabies. Def. believes the mule had rabies at the time of the sale and brought the original suit seeking compensation.

Plaintiff's name also spelled Hoge in documents.

For a boiler the defendants claim was too rusted to be of use or repaired. Also see WT 784.

Plaintiffs given names not stated - additional defendant Elizabeth Ewing Watches, chains, and seals were delivered but before sale merchandise was comprimised.

Add. defendants: James Saunders, C. Arledge, M.C. Forbes & Matt N. March. Plaintiff purchased from Saunders three mules for $300. A few days later, an execution stating the mules belonged to Abbott was issued by the county clerk. West states that he is an innocent purchaser of the mules and sued to keep them as his property.

Charge against defendant is selling liquor to a slave. Specifically, in 1841 a quantity of whiskey was allegedly sold to 'Wesley' without the knowledge or permission of his owner, Alexander Hays.

sues for $495.46 for a searchlight that could not pass government inspection despite claims to the contrary.
