Additional Defendant: The City of Memphis. Plaintiff sued to collect on judgment owed him by the City of Memphis. Maintains Taxing District of Shelby Co. responsible for city's debts.

Recovery of money of $150 for the value of a set of books and service it agreed to finish and perform under an alleged contract.

Plaintiff sued for past overtime pay. Exhibits include pay receipts and envelopes, correspondence, calendar.

Plaintiff sued to collect $2,295.81 from defendant, who had entered into bond with Southeastern Paving & Construction Co. to pay all claims for material furnished Southeastern Paving for the construction of a highway in Carter Co. known as State Aid Project No. 6448-A, Carter Co. Southeastern Paving refused to pay plaintiff & has since entered bankruptcy. Defendant denies any liability on grounds that Atlantic did not file its suit within required 60 days.

Bond & Wright was a partnership comprised of S.D. Bond and W.S. Wright

Plaintiff asserted that defendant failed to pay wages authorized under the National Recovery Act code, under $100.

Monies had originally been paid by W.E. Newell and Co.

Plaintiff, the Bank of Lewisburg sought recovery of funds, $314.05, of defendant T.A. Montgomery, former bookkeeper of this bank. The bank charges that the defendant was in debt due to 'over check'. Defendant insisted the bank owed him $320.00 in salary Witness to the defense: John Wallace, employee of B.O.L., and the defendants father, R.S. Montgomery former president of the bank.

Exhibits: collection notice, remittance slip, checks, sales statement, correspondence, receipts, court documents, certificate, account sheet, distress warrants. Plaintiffs sued to recover $2000.00 paid to defendant company. This suit was based upon the failure of defendant to comply with the Code of Tennessee in regard to the repossession under a conditional sales contract of a soda fountain combination which had been sold to plaintiffs, Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Neighbors. Add. materials located in ET 1526.

Recovery of money collected by the Sheriff and paid over to B. Lowenstein & Bros.

Max J. Winkler originally sued plaintiff to recover an unpaid loan of $25 plus $1.20 interest & won its case. Plaintiff seeking to reverse this decision. Max J. Winkler Brokerage Co., managed by M. S. Umbenhauer, did not describe itself as a loan company. Umbenhauer stated that his firm "was engaged in the business of buying and discounting salaries". The firm also kept no record of accounts. When a party paid his note off or satisfied the bill of sale it was torn up.

Additional Defendants: W. W. Mynatt, Ray Harris. Complainant sought to recover compensation for his former position of Labor Foremen in the Department of Public Services, Knoxville. Exhibits: envelopes, minutes of city council, notice. Plaintiff's initials are also E. R. in another part of the transcript.

Dotson administrator of William Chanler, deceased. Vaughn asserts Chanler owed him $350 for services.

Case involves recovery of fees paid for services rendered; lien involved.

E D Phillips and wife, M E Phillips- co-plaintiffs M E Phillips taught at a school run by the Smith Brothers ,(RD Smith and RH Smith). She taught there 1882 and 1883 but had to leave for health reasons. After her departure, she asked the Smith Brothers to return to her report book in which she kept a record of all the lessons given to pupils during the term. They said they did not have the book. She is looking to recover money due her for additional lessons.

Recovery of coin lost by Smith and found by Mariner.

Additional Cause of Action: Debt due by Lumber boughgt and not paid for. Receipts and timesheets included.
