Mrs. Lowrance agreed to allow Mrs. Mason to stay in her home for a nominal rent of $50.00 per month as Mrs. Mason had nowhere to go and Mrs. Lowrance often traveled with her husband. Mrs Mason would not give up the home when asked. Court found the arrangement to be a tenant at will situation and so sided with Mrs. Lowrance. Appeals are in WT1728 (78-D-6).

Joplin was a resident of Spartanburg, South Carolina. A copy of the will of John Bostick, Jr. is included in the transcript. Bushrod Johnson (1817-1880) was a Northern born Confederate General during the Civil War.
