Folder includes only briefs: two from the case of H. A. Puryear (or R. A. Puryear) v. John G., Thompson et al., and one from the case of Bernard M. Pattison v. William and Joseph Wallace. The three briefs were fastened together with paper fasteners. The specific contract involved the feeding of a mare, which was then supposed to be taken to a livery stable. The defendants (any others are not named here) kept the mare overnight in his own barn, and she perished there in a fire the next morning. |
