On 28 Nov. 1932 plaintiff purchased furniture from the defendant under a retention title contract; on 9 Nov. 1934 defendants repossessed the property without her consent or due process of law & sold it at a private sale for $79.50. At time of repossession plaintiff had paid defendants $43 & still owed a balance of $93.20. The value of the furniture is now less than the unpaid balance. Plaintiff sued to collect the $43 that she has already paid. |

He was paid at a rate of 22.5 cents an hour, but said he was doing iron rod work, a job that was paid a higher rate. Anderson sued to be paid the difference of the pay rate. Boyd gave the example of Golden Peacock Bleach Cream sold in stores for $.69, but she was forced to sell it for $1.00. |

REA wanted to collect $741.13 due on a check executed by the Brookside Mills and drawn on the mills' account at the East Tennessee National Bank of Knoxville. Local REA agent John I. Dale had no authority to endorse a check made to his company, so he sent it to the main office in Atlanta where it was deposited. However, the check was not paid by the ETNB because it had suspended operations. Sole question being argued was whether plaintiff presented check for payment with reasonable time. |

Defendant originally sued Wilkey for $25,000 damages in the death of her 20-year-old son Reese Mealor. Mealor, a passenger in Wilkey's car, was killed when Wilkey wrecked his car while trying to escape the police during a high speed chase. Part of Wilkey's defense was that Mealor was driving at the time; Wilkey seldom drove because he was handicapped by loss of one eye & right arm. Both men were intoxicated when chase began. Accident took place in Chatham Co., GA near Savannah. |

The son found the body & picked it up, becoming ill from exposure to the "poison fluids" and "putrefying flesh". His health is now permanently impaired due to the city's & Hill's negligence. |
