The membership transferred when they moved to Memphis, where the endowment increased $300. Wesley died in 1916 and the plaintiff refused to pay the endowment and a judge ruled in favor of M. Weaver for $300 and the plaintiff filed for this new trial.

In November 1930, Sam Barfield arrested J.H. Hastings, Jr. and his father, J.H. Hastings, Sr. for unlawful possession of intoxicating liquor. J.H. Hastings, Jr. said that the wrongful arrest injured his reputation and sued for a new trial.
