The plaintiff entered into a contract with the Athens Table and Manufacturing Co. to insure her son, Oran Melton, an employee of said co. Oran became sick with typhoid fever and died in July of 1930. The defendant refused to honor said contract saying Oran terminated his employment with the Athens Table Manufacturing Co., voiding his insurance policy. Exhibit material includes the insurance policy contract. |

Pltf. was on Denmark Road when he noticed smoke coming from under the dashboard, a fire soon consumed the vehicle, destroying it. Pltf. still had payments on the car, but sued to enforce insurance payment. |

Potts filed to recover $420 on the life of Dora Lane, who died June 8, 1932. Company claimed that Dora was not in good health at the time the policy was issued, supposedly on May 9. Interstate further claimed that the man who issued the policy, G. A. Kendrick, left the company on June 3 and went to collect from Mr. Lane later that day. Shenanigans on both sides continued. Exhibits include sample policy and policy collection receipt. |

Defendant in error sued to recover payments from two life insurance policies taken out on his wife, Eula May Henderson dec. Said policies were worth $180 and $90. Eula Henderson died of nephritis on May 3rd of 1931 or 1932. From testimony given by her doctor, it appears that Eula was either pregnant at the time of her death or had recently given birth. Exhibit materials include insurance contracts, payment information, and a death certificate. |

Patterson sued the plaintiff for $750, the sum the defendant owes the plaintiff on a insurance policy bought by Thomas H. Patterson, deceased. The proof of death claims that Patterson died of suicide from carbolic acid poisoning. Patterson had been injured a few weeks earlier at his job. Exhibits include 3 glass medicine bottles (Carbolic Acid and Haarlem Oil) and insurance policies. This case fills the entire box. |

Smith is sued the defendant for money they had and received in premiums on two void insurance policies, issued to Walter Johnson. Smith was the beneficiary on both policies issued. Plaintiff has no insurable interest in the insured by relation. The defendant did not know the policies were void and therefore is a civil fraud on the plaintiff. She sued for $28.80. Exhibits includes receipts booklets, applications for life insurance and insurance policies. |

Sarah "Nannie" H. Taylor Riddle worked for Kingsport Press making books. She was enrolled in her employer's group insurance policy and payments were subtracted monthly from her check. She became ill, with what witnessing doctors claimed to have been tuberculosis. This illness, according to Riddle caused permanent disability, & she filed for benefits which the insurance company turned down. |

Def. in error was an employee of the Richmond hosiery Mill of Rossville, Georgia. The Pla. in error issued a Master Group Life Insurance Policy to said employer. When she purchased said policy, the Def. was 61. Because of her advanced age, she asked the insurance agent if she would still be covered and he assured her that she would. The Def. proceeded to pay her premiums. When she became disabled, the Pla. refused payout. Case file includes a copy of said insurance policy and correspondence. |
