Carrick McFetridge, Lula's husband, had a life insurance policy for $430. When he died in1944, the insurance company claimed that there had been a mistake on the policy: that it should have been written for $230. Because Lula & Carrick were illiterate, the insurance company faulted them for not noticing that a policy on a 48-year-old man could not be written for more than $230. (2 copies of case)

Plaintiff sought to recover $190.28 in premiums paid to defendant company on the basis of being mislead to sign up as beneficiary of John Stewart (col). However, plaintiff discovered that she was unable to collect on policy o insured since she had no insurable interest in the life of John Stewart. Defendant wished to recover money owed him because of the disabling injuries he received while working at the U. S. Pipe & Foundry Co. Policies included.

Plaintiff is the administrator of the estate of Malinda E. Rhoten (dec.). sued for damages of $1,000 for when the defendant agreed to pay the deceased's beneficiaries $300 plus 10% for a time, resulting in a payout of $450. The defendant wrongfully declined to pay the beneficiaries any principle sums.

Incomplete case file: testimony only. Because only testimony is present, case details are difficult to discern. It seems that Mrs. Addie Prince Harrell had trouble with her eyes, perhaps an astigmatism. She seems to have gotten into an accident, but was not badly harmed. She was diagnosed as neurasthenic. What she claimed to the insurance company is not stated here. Much questioning about glasses and nervous disorder.

Plaintiff claims the condition and use of the property insured is in violation of the warranty policy and refused to pay the policy.

Includes medical examiners certificate concluding J. K. Steel, deceased and plaintiff's husband in good health and therefore recommending membership to the order. J. K. Steel had $3,000.00 insurance policy through defendant. Upon his death widow would receive policy if he was in good standing. Also see WT Box 810

Plaintiff claimed that defendant owed her $4000 on a "certificate of benefits" after the death of her husband, J. K. Steele.

Willis worked for American Textile Woolen Co. and was insured by Aetna under a group policy. He became permanently injured in April 1932. Aetna refused to pay for his disability. Willis's original policy was submitted as evidence & is filed with case.

Defendant in error, wife of Moss Cook dec, aka Boss, alleges that the plaintiff in error has refused to pay the amount due under a life insurance policy held in her husband’s name. Said policy was taken out through Moss's employer, the United States Pipe and Foundry Company. Moss became permanently disabled and died in 1933 from bronchial issues. Exhibit material includes correspondence and insurance policy certificate and information.

Pltfs husband, Joseph Walter Barker, died Nov. 8, 1926. His insurance was supposed to be paid out on proof of death, which pltf supplied. Ins. Co refused to payout policy.

This was a suit to recover as beneficiary on a policy of industrial life insurance upon the life of Willie Barrett.

Plaintiff sued to recover $1,875 from non-payment of insurance claim by dfnt., including extra costs and interest. Exhibits: OV insurance policies, insured parcel receipt, etc. in WT OV 8. In multiple folders.

Plaintiff, who had a policy with the defendant, sued to collect $25 in unpaid claims plus a 25% penalty. Plaintiff also had policies with 3 other insurance companies & had filed claims with all of them. Defendant argued that her carrying aggregate insurance of over $7 violated her policy contract with them, & under the terms of the contract they were liable for only the pro rata part. Defendant had paid some of her claims before learning of the other insurance policies.

The plaintiff is the widow of Sam Russell. She wishes to recover a thousand dollars from the policy which she charges was issued on a written application. This application was sent in by the local agent to the Home Office. The defendant claims the policy was denied because of a discrepancy as to the date of his birth.
