Defendant is the administrator of the estate of his father W. F. Karnes (dec.), who is also the father of D. P. Butler. In 1909, the plaintiff purchased from W. F. Karnes a tract of land for $600, paying $100 in cash and the balance in five deferred pay- ments. Prior to his death, the plaintiffs paid $500 and also bought the homestead from the other heirs. The defendant as administrator told the plaintiffs they owed more money for the land and therefore owed the heirs more than they were paid. |

Owen sued for $25,000 in damages. Owen charges negligence in that the motorman gave no warning of his approach & the street car was not equipped with a fender which, had it been present, could have prevented the injuries that took his son's life. Defendant states that the Browns had once lived on his place & that Pearl Brown asked for his help in escaping her step-father's sexual abuse. There was a warrant for J. W. Hord sued to recover damages for the injury and misdiagnosis. The Morrises owed $1,500 to Mrs. Mattie A. Hoard. |
