In March of 1809 Wallace Kirkpatrick owed Dement money. Together they owed on a surety a larger sum that Dement was pressed to pay. Dement purchased land near where Andrew Jackson and John Hutchings built their gin house. Kirkpatrick was bound to pay Dement $250 in order to ify the debt. |
