Tatum was the surviving partner of the mercantile company Tatum & (Henry) Wiggins. The partners had purchased a large shipment of goods from Evans & David Allison, in Philadelphia to open a store in Washington, KY. Suit was filed to settle the debt owed to Evans, and to finally dissolve the partnership in accordance to their articles of formation. See additional documents in MT 1 & MT 75. |

Gray owed Frederick Owen $168 & Mayfield was security on the loan. Gray became completely insolvent & left Tennessee. Mayfield was left to pay the debt. Stephen Sutton had a judgment against Gray for an additional $190. Mayfield sued to have the debt to Sutton discharged so that the debt owed him by Gray would be prioritized & repaid. |

Winchester owed a debt to Jackson & Evans, & went to Philadelphia to pay it in full. After this, he traded US militia claims for more merchandise. The claims were examined by David Allison, who acted as Jackson & Evans' middle man, but who was later found questionable in his dealings. Joel Dyer agreed to make a cotton machine for James Roberts. To pay for the machine, Roberts transferred a debt to Dyer owed to him by John Young. Young, in turn transferred a debt to Dyer owed him by Edmund Jennings. Dyer sued Jennings to finally be paid for his work making the cotton machine. |

In 1805 Henry Childress loaned Perkins $100. Part of the money was paid back, but Childress felt he had to sue to recover the rest. In 1806 Henry Childress obtained judgment against Thomas Perkins for $65, the remainder. The remainder was unpaid, and this suit was filed to recover it. Peter Perkins also mentioned. |
