In 1867 Helton was appointed Clerk of Chancery Court of Wayne County. During his tenure he executed several bonds for $10,000 each with defendants M. J. Sims, Joseph G. Berry, and E. V. Tunnard, R. P. Cypert, C. M. Thompson, W. R. Porter & C. C. Stribling as securities. However, he failed to turn over all of the money he collected. He and his securities were sued to recover the money owed to the County. |

In 1860, the defendants executed a deed which conveyed property set out to William Leonard Hiter in trustee for the use and benefit of themselves for life and then onto their children Charles & Gertrude. W. L. Hiter died in 1865 and then plaintiff was appointed as trustee. Juliet Hiter was also mentioned. Juliet, Charles Sr. & Gertrude Sr. were all dec. leaving their children as beneficiaries both of whom were under 21. Provision in deed allows trustee to sell land to pay off debts. |

Dale claimed that he recovered a judgment in an action of debt against O. P. Hamilton who had since died intestate and Maxey had been appointed administrator of his estate. Boyd claimed the dfnt. sold items for cheaper in the drug stores, but still expected her to keep up her sales. Boyd gave the example of Golden Peacock Bleach Cream sold in stores for $.69, but she was forced to sell it for $1.00. |

Heims was then appointed admr. Heims claimed that Bolles conveyed a piece of property to Mary J. Burnett, but it was unknown if the conveyance was made to H. J. Burnett as trustee of his wife, Mary. The land was to be sold for the unpaid purchase of money on land and to be sold free from equity of redemption. |
