Plaintiff is the administrator of the estate of Mattie Clement (dec.). Clement bought a ticket for a train owned and operated by the defendant. During her ride, the conductor became involved in a scuffle with a colored passenger and Clement was knocked down, trampled upon, and bruised and injured by other passengers on the car. She became gravely sick, lame and diseased, dying three weeks later. Suing for negligence and damages in the sum of $17,500 for the use of Clement's daughters.
