J. F. Biffle, Buchanon, and Edwards executed a note to the defendant bank in 1893. Biffle was the principal and the plaintiffs were the sureties. When Biffle defaulted on the note, a judgement was rendered for the bank and the plaintiff surities paid the note. However, the refused to pay the attorney fees of the bank, claiming they were unreasonable and that a judgment was reached quickly.
