Defendant in error hand his finger crushed and hand injured while coupling one of the locomotive engines owned by the plaintiff in error. At the time of the accident, he was employed as a fireman by the railway and he claimed that the incident was caused by a defective coupler. The circuit court awarded the fireman $500.
