Additional Defendant: Ray Bennington, son of W. G. Bennington. Originally Bennington sued Knoxville & Harley Lee Hill for $10,000 damages. On 6 Aug. 1929 their son's small dog became ill & was put down by Hill, a Humane Officer who did not remove the body for days despite repeated requests to do so. The son found the body & picked it up, becoming ill from exposure to the "poison fluids" and "putrefying flesh". His health is now permanently impaired due to the city's & Hill's negligence.
