Cora Distretti's husband Louis died on December 6, 1926. They had a life insurance policy in place with the defendant but the defendant refused to pay the whole amount of the policy after his death. Plaintiff sued for $4000, the value stated of the policy. Louis had been shot by two "bandits" that had robbed a store he owned and died from the wounds. Exhibits that are supposed to be attached to pages 63 and 64 are missing.
