Years before this suit Jesse Robinson purchased land in Fentress County from Crouch for $350. All but $71 was paid at the time of purchase. In 1866 Crouch filed a bill against the Robinsons to collect the debt. Robinson was dead by this point and sued his wife and heirs to collect.
