Trust company was the executor of the Daniel Briscoe estate. As such, bank had remodeled and reconstructed a building known as the Bus Terminal. The company operated and leased the building which had been built in the form of an arcade. They paved the entrance with a kind of flooring that became very slick when wet. Rankin slipped and fell on the pavement, breaking her arm at the elbow. She sued to recover lost salary and medical costs and for suffering permanent physical pain and mental anguish.
