Addtl dfnts: Bill Ooley and C. C. Campbell. Pearson and his business partner, J. S. Nunley, in the trade of groceries and "druggs", who made many accounts with dfnt. Campbell, agent of dfnt Spurlock. Campbell offered to buy out Nunley's interest in the store and asked pltf and Nunley to sign a note to him. Pearson only signed the note if he wouldn't be held as surety for the whole amount, only half, if Nunley did not pay. The Nashville Trust initially sued to recover the debt on the note.
