The plaintiffs in this suit were residents and business owners of the former Claiborne County that was declared pat of Campbell County. The plaintiffs charged that 100 to 200 square miles containing about 400 qualified voters and taxable property were transferred to Campbell County without consulting citizens, surveying, or petitioning the legislature. Plaintiffs requested an injunction to prevent Campbell County from collecting taxes in the area in question. See also ET 1081, John Ausmus.
