21 year old Kenneth Baxter was accused of entering B.H. Sprankle's real estate office on Union Street in Knoxville, and robbing clerk Lavonne Edmonds of $108.10 at gun point. Baxter claimed to be ill with food borne illness and bed ridden at friend's house. Eye witnesses could not surely identify Baxter. Baker also produced a new witness, was already serving time in jail when the trial took place.
