Notes / Description:

Filed as "writ of error." Polly's father Barclay McGhee died leaving an estate of $150,200. McGhee didn't approve of her marriage to William Lowry, & left her little in his will. However, he had made an agreement with Polly's brother John that she was to be well provided for following Barclay's death. Although John bought land for Wm. & Polly, the land was never legally turned over. Polly sued for rights to the inheritance. Includes Barclay's probate inventory.
