The plaintiffs sold and conveyed to the defendant Sampson a tract of land for payment of $600, with faith they would receive the money through time. Sampson then conveyed the same land to W. Brock for a mule worth $70 and $600 in Confederate money. The plaintiffs filed the bill after no money was paid by Sampson and the Confederate money he was paid was illegal and worthless and the mule belonged to another person. The plaintiffs want the money promised them as Sampson had no payment from Brock.
