Add. Plaintiffs: Gibson & George G. Hardin, exes. of Amos Hardin, dec. At public sale, McMillans sold 2 negroes: Edy [Elly? Cay?], 39 yr. old female house servant, & 2 yr old daughter Dorcas. Amos bought them, Reuben was security, Thomas Smith was cryer. Amos in bad health & died before he had paid for the negroes, so McMillans sued his estate, which claimed the negroes were unsound at time of sale: Edy "affected with fits & spells of delirium" & Dorcas also had spells & soon died of unknown disease.
