Notes / Description:

Thompson sued Sneed to recover a house and lot in Knoxville. She brought the suit in her own right and as next friend of Andrew Copeland, a minor. Andrew's father, Peter Copeland, was married to Sarah. Sarah had fenced the property, improved it, and paid taxes. She then offered it for sale. Title disputed by A. G. Buffet & Co., which claimed to have bought it from Peter; Sarah could not remember signing it. Confusion ensued. Her marriage to Peter was challenged; evidence that she married Robert Conner.
