Ruth asked for the maintenance of the child until he/she was 12. The child was born January 30, 1935. Ruth filed a pauper oath, which could result in the child becoming a county charge. Hon. Sue K. Hicks (prosecutor at the 1925 John T. Scopes trial) presided. Precedent cited was William Goddard v. State.
