Wynck indicted for assaulting Noah Monroe & stealing from him a pocket knife, pocket book & gloves. Jury found him guilty, sentenced him to 5 yrs in penitentiary. Monroe was at widow Kitts' house when Wynck & David Lay ran toward him, so he ran, having just witnessed them pursue & arrest federal soldier, J. Davis. They caught Monroe, stole items from him. Monroe previously a teamster in U.S. Army & had been hiding from Rebels. Wynck belonged to a Rebel scout but Monroe not sure if it was regular army.
