Davis accused of setting fire to barn & house of William Willoughby, who discovered fire with son John William at 2 am. Willoughby (separated from wife, as was Davis) said to be "too thick with" Davis' wife. Davis allegedly threatened to shoot Willoughby. Lots of witnesses. Geographical references: Guthrie's bridge, Shields' mill, Warrensburg, Aquilla Jackson's old doggery, the South Carolina Road, Daniel Petit's mill dam, Gap Creek. Testimony indicated Davis might've been paymaster for Allen Bakery.
